Saskatoon Expo
What do Lando Calrissian, 10 angry monkeys and I have in common? We will all be at the Saskatchewan Entertainment Expo this year. I'll be selling yet more copies of my comic: Censor Monkeys Have No Class full of 10 angry monkeys. I have no idea what Lando will be doing. Sitting on top of a pile of money surrounded by beautiful ladies maybe?
My booth number in Artist's Alley will be 617. I'll be sandwiched in between author K. E. Barron and artist Bizartspot. Across from me will be an incredibly prolific artist named Scott A Ford. I'm sure we will all quickly become one big happy family that hugs each other a lot before the Expo draws to a close. The Artist's Alley will be in Hall D where my table will be located. Here's a map to help you find me easily:
But of course I and my neighbours in Artist's Alley won't be the only ones in attendance. Some very famous people will be there too giving autographs and having their pictures taken with fans. People like:
Amy Acker
She's an actress who's been in many sic fi TV shows such as Angel, Alias, Person of Interest, and a series from Marvel called The Gifted
Billy Dee Williams
His biggest role in the ski fi genre is Lando Calrissian from the Star Wars franchise. However his long industrious career spans back way before that. He started on TV in the 1960's on soap operas like Guiding Light and was on many other dramatic shows until his first film debut in Final Countdown in 1972. His most notable non-scifi performance was opposite Diana Ross in Mahogany in 1975.
Caitlin Glass
She's done more voice overs for anime productions than anyone can count. She has been dubbed the "queen of anime". All hail the true queen.
John Barrowman
He is a multi-talented entertainer who's been on TV in both America and the UK. According to the Sask Expo site: he sings, dances, acts, presents, and judges. Let's see if he can do all 5 of those things at the same time while he's here.
Johnny Yong Bosch
He's best known as the Black Ranger from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Marina Sirtis
She played Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation and was the first crush of many Gen Xers and Millenials. Not mine though. No...... certainly not...... um......... is it hot in here?
Michael Rooker
He played the blue alien Yondu Udonta in Guardians of the Galaxy. Also, much like Billy Dee Willams, he's an accomplished actor with a long career in both movies and TV.
Plus, like every other sic fi convention, there'll be many cool booths to shop at and lots of fun costumes to look at. They might sell fries and mini donuts too. Who knows. You'll have to come on down to find out. The convention runs September 14 to 15 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. If you don't have tickets now, go get them.
See you all there.
